Setting the pace: Cook sponsors virtual races 2020
Whether you walk, jog, or run, for health or fun, you can be sure it’s for a good cause when you sign-up for one of Cook’s sponsored races. Two of those races are the Hoosiers Outrun Cancer and the Cook Medical Women’s Mini Marathon.
Due to COVID-19 and social distancing guidelines, both of these events will be “virtual races” this year. Instead of large groups running and walking together on one course, each individual participant will be able to complete their distance on their own. No matter where you live in the world, because these races are virtual, you can take part in a Cook-sponsored race. Whether you’re inside on a treadmill or outside on a trail, all you have to do is to keep track of your distance, record your time, and report it back through the race website when you’ve reached the virtual finish line. These events will continue to provide runners with ways to participate in the unique race traditions, as well as mailing individuals their shirts, bibs, and race medals.
